June 22, 2011, Wednesday was one of the most remembered day in the election history in Barangay Mariblo, District 1, Area IV, Quezon City. Some said that this was first in the Philippine Election History.
During the October 2010 Election, the two former kagawad canditates, Hon. Narciso Gabonada Hermosa, Jr. and Mr. Oliver A. Algas found out that there is a nuisance candidate before their names. As a result, two former kagawad, Mr. Oliver A. Algas and Mr. Jerome Taeza got tied on 511 votes, while Hon. Narciso G. Hermosa, Jr.got 504 votes plus 56 stray votes.
Hon. Narciso G. Hermosa, Jr. took an early action on the matter. The Comelec, last Oct. 26, in response to another petition filed by Hermosa, declared another candidate, Nariso Gabriel Hermosa Jr., as a nuisance candidate and ordered the latter’s name be stricken from the official list of candidates for the Oct. 25 barangay polls.
Furthermore, after the election, the Comelec issued another resolution Friday, granting a motion filed by another candidate, Narciso Gabonada Hermosa Jr., to suspend the tie breaking process of the two former kagawad who garnered the same number of votes.
